The Latin language lives on in the fields of science, literature, medicine, religion and law. In many ways, a strong foundation in Latin helps us to better understand the roots of our own language.

The 9-course program in Latin will provide you with a foundational understanding of the language and culture of ancient Rome. In addition, classical studies will prepare you for graduate-level work in a variety of fields, including archeology, art history, biblical studies, law, linguistics and more. You may also take Latin to fulfill your foreign language core requirement.
